“We are going to make sure that that ends on Day One,” Trump said at a Wildwood, NJ rally in May.“I’m going to write it out in an Executive Order.”
Trump understands the harms and costs “green” energy policies inflict on all Americans. Expensive electricity touches all corners of society and regressively impacts low and middle-income ratepayers. No individual sector, industry or government is immune to energy costs.
As the most expensive generation source of electricity, offshore wind will impose a heavy burden on household and small business balance sheets. The compounding effects of rising electricity costs are already harming consumers as industries and governments pass along increasing rates in the form of higher costs for goods and services and higher taxes.
Trump also recognizes the environmental devastation that “monster” wind turbines inflict on birds, marine life and other species along with our coastal ecosystems and environment. The wind industry’s environmental harms are well documented with thousands of dead whales and dolphins stranded in the wake of offshore wind construction, operation and seismic sonar surveying in the Atlantic Ocean over the past seven years. This needs to stop. “It’s going to end on Day One,” says Trump.
